Steve brings to Parker Academy a broad base of educational experience, having taught chemistry and math in public, private and parochial secondary schools, universities and the corporate sector. Steve's passion for chemistry began in high school when he founded and led an amateur rocketry club, successfully launching solid propellant rockets as large as six feet long. He pursued formal technical training through the doctoral level, with a specialization in electrochemistry.

Steve's curiosity about the behavior of chemicals is followed closely by his interest in human behavior. While working in the industrial sector, he took courses at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) in Colorado and North Carolina, that helped him recruit and lead high performance research teams. He has been able to apply the learning about human behavior to the class room setting, where the influences of personality and state of mind often outweigh subject matter considerations.

Steve has Bachelors and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. His hobbies include wood working and listening to music.
