Physics analyzes and studies the causes and results of forces in the physical world. The class combines an understanding and an application of laws, theories and formulas that allow students to explain and predict the fundamental concepts governing motion and energy. Topics include units on kinematics, statics, work and energy, planetary and circular motion, electromagnetism, optics and sound. Students will be asked to investigate, supplement and display their knowledge of material through a combination of written computation, lab investigations and hands-on construction of projects throughout the year. The class may be taken either conceptually or mathematically, but an understanding of Algebra is strongly recommended. Go back to Mathematics & Science page
