Middle School Social Studies meets the needs of students grade six through eight. Themes including civics, economics, geography, New Hampshire and world history, contemporary issues, as well as social skills are explored. Curriculum concepts spiral throughout the course to allow students multiple opportunities to develop and interact with skills, promoting growth and understanding over time. Each thematic unit is designed to foster personal understanding and intellectual growth. Units encourage students to lead reflective lives while actively participating in the world around them. Field trips, community service opportunities and hands-on opportunities allow for active community participation and promote practices of civic virtue. By affording students multiple opportunities to interact with curriculum concepts over time, students are encouraged and supported to achieve to the best of their ability.
