German I is taught using everyday situations from meeting and greeting people to asking directions and handling simple business transactions. Students learn basic vocabulary for: instructions, finding your way, entertainment, dining, shopping, banking, and using the telephone and mail services, and medical help and emergencies. Also students learn the days of the week, months, seasons, weather, time, numbers, basic grammar and a guide to road signs. Additionally students learn to read and translate small dialogues, write sentences and are assessed via vocabulary quizzes and tests.
