French I includes the study of French grammar, vocabulary building, speaking with correct pronunciation, reading and comprehending. In addition, various French cultures and dialects are studied. The course also examines the importance of the French language and how the study of the language as evolved through the years. French is spoken the majority during class time. Most often Glencoe's Benzene or Vista's Espaces are the texts and both are supplemented by handouts on French culture, history and contemporary life.
