Parker Academy

This course helps students to further develop the core skills of humanities study close reading, accurate research, focused writing, and mindful speech. Literary works explore global themes and a diverse set of perspectives, reinforcing content and concepts studied in World History. Students write creatively and analytically using the Six Traits of Writing and writing-as-a-process. In class discussion, students practice making the connection between assertion and evidence, developing engaged and mature personal voices, and demonstrating respect for others through kind listening and honest, constructive responses.
